SWHA is an alliance of three GP Networks in the south of WA including:
- GP down south
- Koombana Health Network
- Great Southern GP Network
The Alliance was established in November 2010 for the purpose of providing a structure to do the following:
- Guide the three GP Networks as they collaborate in their shared vision - to continue to improve integrated primary health care in the south west of WA.
- Develop a Medicare Local in the proposed South West Medicare Local Region as published on www.yourhealth.gov.au ‘Medicare Locals and Local Hospital Networks Boundaries’.
The parties are committed to working with others to develop strong partnerships in the planning and delivery of primary health care in the Region.
The Wheatbelt GP Network declined to be a part of the Alliance but is supportive of the South West Health Alliance and its proposed development of a Medicare Local.
As part of the application process, the South West Health Alliance Ltd (ACN 149 607 616) was registered as an independent Company limited by guarantee on 2 March 2011, with a trading name of South West WA Medicare Local. To view the Constitution
